About Us
Kyle Carlson founded Saving Lives With Helpful Guys as a second-year law student at Chicago-Kent College of Law. The project started as an assignment for a Legislative Advocacy class taught by William Kling. Representative Mike Quigley (D-IL) and his staff, especially Robyn Russell, were essential for the research phase of this project. After Kyle built this website, several Chicago-Kent student groups quickly took action. The Chicago-Kent Lambdas, National Lawyers Guild, and many individual volunteers have been extremely supportive of reforming the Gay Blood Ban. They have attended Saving Lives With Helpful Guys powerpoint presentations, collected petition signatures, and worked to educate the community. Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute to this project and the fight for equality. Contact: kylepcarlson@hotmail.com.
